In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Central downtown location — Steps from Place des Arts, the Just for Laughs Museum, and within walking distance of Old Montreal and the main shopping street.
  • Free parking and Wi-Fi — Both are included, which is a notable perk in a downtown setting.
  • Practical rooms with kitchenettes — Several room types come with kitchenettes, making it easy to prepare simple meals and snacks.
  • Friendly, accommodating staff — The couple running the hotel and staff like Pierre are frequently described as kind and helpful.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Inconsistent housekeeping and maintenance — While many guests found rooms clean, one detailed negative review describes a filthy room, poor water pressure, and laundry hung in public view.
  • Street noise and room location — Rooms facing the street can be noisy; several guests recommend requesting a room at the back for quieter sleep.
  • Basic heating system — Rooms rely on baseboard heaters, which may be insufficient during very cold Montreal winters.
  • No elevator — The building has no lift, and upper-floor rooms require climbing stairs.

“The room had a clean kitchenette with everything we needed — stove, kettle, pots, dishes, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, and a remote-controlled air conditioner. Our room faced away from the street, so it was quiet. There was a selection of teas but no coffee, which was fine for me but might bother others. Water pressure on the upper floors was good for a hot shower. We arrived late and they let us check in first and pay afterward. Central location, moderate price, and free parking and internet. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but at this price, especially when you're out most of the time, it's not a big deal. There was a flat-screen TV, though I didn't have time to use it.”

“Very reasonably priced for such an excellent central location. The room was neat and tidy, and the bed was comfortable — not too soft. The only potential issue is heating in very cold weather, as there's only a baseboard heater, but it wasn't a problem for us. All in all, I'd stay again and recommend it. Our room was $70 for two people, one bed — good value for downtown Montreal.”

“The motel was good, clean, and good value for money.”

“Great value! Not the nicest room in the world, but for four guys on a road trip, it was perfect. Great location, next to McGill, near pubs on St. Laurent, and a short walk downtown. Free parking too!”

5Verified guest

“Centrally located, and Pierre at the front desk was very friendly.”

“The location was ideal — we could walk to Old Montreal and the main shopping street. The room was great for two people. The kitchen was tiny but big enough to make a few snacks. Very convenient, and I'd stay again.”
